Many of those Hummers that you are talking about do get taken off road.Many are used for search and rescue vehicles.you only wish that you could afford a Hummer>

I wish I could afford a Hummer. To be honest, I could care less about fuel consumption...It just so happens, however, I cannot afford unlimited amounts of gas which is a dissapointment cause I LOVE to drive!!!

You'll like the Chevy Volt then. That's going to be the first ultra "green" car ever that's also going to be a driver's car. Bob Lutz said they could easily get the 0-60 down to 6.0 seconds. And it's going to be built on the new Astra platform... which GM is currently dumping a ton of money into.

If you want to attack somebody, go after Al Gore who is flying around in his private jet spewing fuel in to the upper atmosphere so he can give a lecture on the crisis of global climate change! How is that for environmental responsibility. The irony.

This whole environmental argument is a useful one for people at the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum with a chip on their shoulder to feel morally superior to those of us who have worked hard to get where we are. If you look at the majority of H2 owners, they are self made entrepreneurs. It is exactly those individuals who drive the economy so let them get a few less miles to the gallon if they wish.

What do you drive? If it's anything other than a subcompact you have no right to judge the H2. Vehicles in general are excessive. If you want to dislike vehicles in general, that's one thing. But to single out the H2 because it's large and uses a large amount of fuel is really quite stupid. What about the 30,000+ people every month that buy a 23 MPG Camry? They could have got a 38 MPG Yaris. The 17,000 H2s purchased in a year aren't going to have a significant impact on anything.
