Video Title :
Whooping Cranes - International Crane Foundation at Baraboo
Description :
Today I had the incredible experience of visiting the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo WI with my parents. There I was able to observe one-week old Flapper with his/her parents 11 year old Omega (Daddy) and 8 year old Seurat (Mommy.) Daddy is foraging the water for food, then takes it to Flapper for lunch. The foundation is part of an effort to bring back the whooping crane population. In 1941 the population was down to 21 birds. In 2006 there were 470 whooping cranes counted. To learn more about his effort visit www.savingcranes.org. If so inclined, please donate to this effort.

Omega! I just serviced Seurat and Omega's house at Crane City this morning. Now we have two different cranes in the whooper exhibit, Chip (female) and Crockett (male). I'm a new aviculture intern at the foundation, so if anyone has any questions, feel free to message me! Beautiful footage, knreinke!
I am trying to get there for a visit this summer. Are there any baby whoopers in the display this year?

Have you seen the Operation Migration videos? They lead Whooping crane chicks from Wisconsin to Florida every winter. Their work is amazing!
