Robyn - Cobrastyle (Live on Late Show with David Letterman)

Video Title : Robyn - Cobrastyle (Live on Late Show with David Letterman)
Description : Robyn performing "Cobrastyle" on the Late Show with David Letterman on May 1, 2008. A little "Cobrastyle" history: "Cobrastyle" began its life as "Press Trigger", a 2001 single recorded by Cobra over the Black Shadow label's Buzz rhythm (most people will recognize this rhythm from Sean Paul's worldwide hit "Give Me the Light"). In 2004, Teddybears STHLM recorded a new version of the song for their album "Fresh!", with guest vocals by Cobra himself - or Mad Cobra as he's generally known outside Jamaica. The Teddybears added a new chorus ("My style is the bomb ..."), inspired by the Sugarhill Gang's 1979 hit "Rapper's Delight", and called their track "Cobrastyle". Robyn originally recorded this song for the soundtrack of the 2006 Swedish movie "Säg att du älskar mig". At this point, Teddybears member Klas Åhlund had already produced much of Robyn's eponymous 2005 album, and this track - now called "Girliestyle" - was actually credited to Teddybears STHLM vs. Robyn. "Girliestyle" featured reworked lyrics to fit Robyn better, removing much of Cobra's original Patois. Later that year, Robyn released her "Rakamonie EP" in the UK, and one of the tracks included was "Girliestyle" - or "Cobrastyle" as it was now called. Since then, "Cobrastyle" has been included on all subsequent releases of the "Rakamonie EP" and her self-titled album (the latter was finally released in the US on April 29, 2008 - almost three years to the day after its Swedish release).

how do figure she's ugly? u mean she doesn't look like a barbie doll like the Pussycat Dolls? who the hell cares...nobody says that about guys in music business!

ehhh, i dont know aboutr this one.

It's called dancing. It's a mixture of krump and polka, the outcome "The rakamonie dance"

She's kind of ugly... What's up with the hand motions? Song is good though.

She makes a lot of hand movements. This is a great song though..

as a drummer this is amazing... screw all this formulaic bullshit, try and perform this song as tight as these two guys plus a keyboard and vocals while wearing a fucking huge bear mask, thats gotta be 5-10lbs, and the guy on the left is rocking out, looks like fun to me.. Melligan is right outstanding live dual drum joint-venture here!

i'm sorry, i wasnt listening, could you say that again... snore...

Shes got attitude, but the right sort, shes the whole package.fit as fuck.

Cool that Sweden is the 3d biggest country regarding music productions. With extremly talented songwriters that made numbers of modern hits for Britney Spears, N´sync, Kelly Clarksson, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys. And all the Swedish artists as well, Roxette, Ace of Bace, Abba, Robyn, Basshunter :)

* I could probabaly go on here all night but there is no use, I know what I think about this song and all the other versions prior to this one and I don't need to comment that. All I want is that we could all accept that evoulution in music is a good thing and that standing still, not evolving, listening to the same old crap won't do anyone any good. Go Robyn, Teddybears let us all hope that people like you will make a difference to all of us! You guys rock!
