Awesome vid!
This is Type 44.
Type 43 was the last big Audi before quattro.

That was a trip. I had an 89 Audi 100 for about 5 yrs. They weren't building them as well back then, I tore it up and it still lasted over 100,000+ miles.

As far as I can see, when the driver is shifting the gear the difflock may be on 2nd position (which means that center and read diffs were locked). It would be great to get better quality movie to make sure :) If it is true, then it would be interesting how this Audi would done that with unlocked diffs and with position 1. I think that it would be too dificult tu climb up that hill with position 0 (all diffs unlocked). Audi 100 FTW :) I love Audi typ44 (this was typ43).

They have a cable attached to the car, there is slack on it the whole way, then tighten when the car stops. You can see the cable lift from under the snow around 0:42 s.
