Helvette, du svenska dikkar pojkar spinnar dinnar!1! =D
That's pretty nice car, but personally I think it's unnecessary to have more than 250-300hp in FWD car.

Saab owns thru and thru. I love my 1999 9-3 SE Stage 3 and am getting another one when the time comes for this one.

Oh, I agree about the advantage had with the body... A buddy of mine used to own a '87 GN that he drove about 30mi one-way daily just to get to work. On night (late) on the way home he totally wound it out on the highway (to about 160+, I'd say. He had already mildly modded the engine), and he said he felt the body start to "Hunker-down" when he got above about 130 & do so more the faster he went. And this was with a totally-stock body! So I totally agree with you there.

GM didn't want Saab to overshadow its own. Look at the new Cobalt SS - it has an "ecotech" 2.0L turbo - that GM just happened to steal from the 9-3. GM has NO creativity, and instead, want to butcher the Saab name to attempt to improve their own failing name. GM is nothing more than a pension fund with a car company on top of it.
|
And yet GM was able to make the Grand National, a beloved & well-respected turbo-musclecar, on it's own well before they got hold of Saab just by working with Garret, thee turbo people.
Now enough quiveling, let's just enjoy the footage & each try to build one of our own.

ah, yes - the mighty Grand National. For it's time, a beauty. But even the famous '85 Indy Buick turbo encountered a LOT of problems over the long haul. The 3.8L turbo is best for "short bursts" whereas a Saab is good for a very long haul. Trust me. Buick success in the Daytonas was from body design, not engine or turbo. The first GNs produced had big issues with the 3.8L turbo. Buick had so much difficulty they dropped the turbo for the supercharger. And Saab's twin V6 turbo is much nicer.
