Introduction to Boeing AH-64 Apache (Part2)

Video Title : Introduction to Boeing AH-64 Apache (Part2)
Description : The United States Army issued a request for proposals (RFP) in 1972 for an Advanced Attack Helicopter (AAH). From an initial list of 5 manufacturers, Boeing-Vertol, Bell, Hughes, Lockheed, and Sikorsky, the finalists selected were Hughes Aircraft's Toolco Aircraft Division (later Hughes Helicopters) and Bell. Hughes' Model 77/YAH-64 was selected over Bell's Model 409/YAH-63 in 1976. First flight of a development prototype occurred on September 30, 1975 but it was not until 1982 that a production contract was signed. In 1983 the first production helicopter was rolled out at Hughes Helicopter's facility at Mesa, Arizona. In 1984 Hughes Helicopters was purchased by McDonnell Douglas for $500 million. Hughes later became part of The Boeing Company with the merger of Boeing and McDonnell Douglas in August 1997.

Listen you little cocksucker..ALL you do is run your mouth on things you know absolutely NOTHING about.. Show proof on what your saying or STFU!!!

Compared to any other attack helicopter that has been used by any military in the world it is by far the most successful. Calling it Junk and comparing it to Russian helicopters that have either performed poorly or have never been in combat is just silly.

id like to see that

im not american sorry guess again

no tail prop but a twin rotor like ka50, only fly by wire, carbone fibres only and the turbines vertically wihta direct link to the rotor pipe. hightech systems that support a single pilot everyhwere possible and jam jam jam or die plus a heavy armor against airsabot s of armor plastics. my brillaiint lasergroundfollowing system like groundfollow radar.

they cancelled hte hydraulics completely in the commanche didnt htey ? tehn it got to expesive on stealth so they just upgrade the old apache a to the apache d including radar. canth help it- looks like a box with gimmicks in side and hten unstable hull.. hmm i wouldve built this thing differently...

I beg to differ, ssleo. Have you ever actually seen one in action? And I don't mean at an airshow. Yes, the video is from the 80s because it was first fielded in 1986. This video was to help familiarize the maintenance crews with it.

is this from the 80s

junk
