When? If you mean at 2:57, the black queen forks the king and the poisoned pawn.

what happens if white just captures the pawn??
|
Generally it isn't great to give up a center pawn for a C or F pawn. Black can also get the pawn back quickly. The engine has black at a very "slight" positional advantage if white takes that pawn. It's a very small positional advantage but at move 3 that's still in black's favor to get any advantage so early in the opening. Thanks for checking out the vid and commenting!

white cant hold the pawn in the QGA
|
What pawn? You mean Black can hold the pawn? Black cannot hold the pawn in QGA - ...b5 is Black's best attempt, and even that doesn't work.
3. Nf3 b5? 4. a4 c6 5. e3 leads to a variation of the Slav Defence where White allows Black to take on c4 play ...b5, but after 5. ... e6 since there is no way left to defend the pawn, 6. axb5 cxb5 7. b3 wins it back because ...a6 cannot be used to defend the b-pawn - the rook on a8 is hanging. ...Bb4+ is only stalling because of Bd2.

d4 d5 c4 cxd4 e4 b5 Nc3 c6 a4 b4 Na2 and white will regain the pawn. for black, in the QGA, he should develop then strike back at the center with d5 and c5
|
I think you mean 2. ... dxc4
If 3. e4, then Black should play 3. ... e5 and immediately re-establish a central presence. If White plays 4. dxe5?! then the pawn center has been removed, Black will play 4. ... Qxd1+ 5. Kxd1 and then get back the e5 pawn at some point while the c4 pawn will probably drop.
Oh, and Black can't strike back with ... d5 after 2. ... dxc4, so it's either ...e5 or ...c5
You've got the idea, but the lines aren't completely accurate. White should prevent ...e5 first.
