Aha! This sent me to Google, which tells me a company named Land Rover makes a vehicle called a Range Rover. Could we both be right? The cars had been heavily modified for this kind of specialized work. I couldn't find anything that looked like them outside of sites in Africa.

Range Rover is their high end model. This is either a series, or a 110 (modified) or a 90. Very nice( to some, me) , but not a Range Rover. They (as in the video) are very chic in NYC, however very hard to find.

Sounds like you're right. I thought they were awesome and told hubby it was just the thing I needed for tooling around suburbia, what with the rhinos and elephants and such. He's still laughing!
