1934 International Harvester LA engine

Video Title : 1934 International Harvester LA engine
Description : This is a 1934 International I inherited from my grandfather, who bought it from an engine show in 1986. This engine was originally used to run a salt spreader for the Massachusetts highway department. New rings, new fuel tank and line, and rebuilt magneto. Still runs like a charm after all these years...

neat old engine..thanks for demonstration

Great demonstration! Do you have any implements that you hook up to the belt?

I have a mid-teens Deming Atlas water pump that, unfortunately, has a cracked case. I am in the process of restoring it. The engine you see in the background is complete, but not running at this time. I need to get this thing running again for spring.

Sort of. I have a 1900's Deming water pump that I am currently restoring.

does that other IH in tha background run?

That was beautiful. Shame you had to turn it off.

Yeah the handle does alot of them break tho i have a LB and my springs broken, these springs are ollld too. i just run my low and slap it in with my hand if i need too.

Nice engine i have a 1948 LB IHC engine.. mine dont like to start alot haha Did the handle on your originally have a spring on the handle? mine does but its broke...

These are nice little engines, manageable in size. Only thing I don't like is when the crank handle is reaching out trying to grab you.

reminds me when I was 15 trying to start the '46 KB3 and I uhh somehow left the crank in...almost lost my arm. So I stall the truck out (no ignition needed, this is the truck we all learned to drive with) and I couldn't get the crank out. My dad had to heat up the crank and pull it out.
