i do not think anyone would try to make the comparison on the basis of numbers killed, rather the comparison is made on ethnically-based killing and displacement for expansion of the state and using a "might makes right" mentality, bolstered with disgusting hypocrisy. regardless, israel would be much safer if it gave up its ambitions to be the most loyal US client, with the hope of sharing with the US the shameful profit of conquest, and worked towards peace in the region.
