As 'Hollywood' as that scene with the baseball bat seemed, it was - ironically - the only thing in the movie that remotely approached real life. Al capone himslef beat two of his soldiers (Scalise and Anselmi) to death at an elaborate dinner because they plotted to kill him with Bugs Moaran.
