shes ugly lol

Dude she is like 50 and she is the best pm in the word.

You should be proud of her, shes so articulate and straight forward, no bulshit Being an Australian, I can relate to being ignored, not as much as you lol, but its good to see shes getting out there and giving NZ a go!

Did anyone ever bother to find out what the Declaration contained and why New Zealand voted against it? Article 26 appeared to require recognition of indigenous rights to lands now privately, lawfully owned by citizens. Obviously the NZ government is not going to toss non-indigenous people out, then pack up and leave, giving the entire country back to people of Maori descent. I was born in New Zealand so it's as much my native land as anyone else's.

We are extremely lucky to have a Prime Minister that is highly respected and listened to abroad. Past Prime Ministers unfortunately have not been the best representitives of kiwis abroad so it refreshing to have such intelligence at the top.

What an amazing person. She leaves John Key (is that his name?) way behind in intellect, experience, knowledge and ethics.

Its easy to criticise the NZ Government, especially when one lives in a democracy. We must remember, be grateful for and protect our parliamentary system, our welfare state and or health and education systems, imperfect though they may be. All NZers benefit from them and nobody has yet come up with a better alternative.

Not as awesome as you think. Months after this interview, Helen Clark's government passed a Terrorist Suppression Act under which many innocent peace and Maori activists were arrested and publicly smeared. Helen Clark's government also voted against the United Nations Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples, against 90% world agreement.

Hmm, I didn't know that. Thank you for informing me. It's good to know these things...

That is correct. NZ joined the CANZUS alliance comprising of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and United States to vote against it. Interesting to note that all the CANZUS alliance members have significant and well known indigenous nations inside their countries of whom they all against. It is quite shameful really but not surprising if one takes in account the collective CANZUS history of colonisation and subjugation of their native peoples.
