Top Gear: Mazda RX8

its good but spare engine parts are hard to get since they are ROTARY and NOT in-line. Spare parts for rotary is also cheap(they use less parts on the rotary engine than in-line) but only Mazda(sell the parts) and Mazda's Qualified techintian able to fix it.. so here we have pros and cons. Rotary is also a thirsty engine too.

Once, there are 4 doors:) When Mazda let the messenger of Ford drive it, he could not but accept the car. It is such a reason that RX-8 has 4 doors(2 doors flavor:). Judgment of the manager of Ford was not necessarily wrong. Because the rotary engine is one with no-good manufacturing efficiency with many handmade portions depending on the skilled craftsman's intuition.

Mazda wanted to make 2-doors pure sports car as a succeeding type of a car of RX-7. But those days, Mazda came to a serious financial crisis. They needed financial support of the Ford.　The Managers of Ford said "Make 4-doors car of the ordinary engine. (Stop development of the rotary engine)". However, Mazda developed this RX-8 secretly. Because Mazda become to have nothing, if the company like Mazda which is not so large loses the pride of company.

Actually several companies own the rights to the Wankel design including mercedes and i think rolls royce...But Mazda perfected it when everyone else gave up. Now if only they can do something about economy because my RX7 is a pain on fuel

the rx-7 really is geting long in the tooth now, and its just an update, BUT euro3 emissions is fucking ever car so bad now

no its not.

in my opinion i have droven both of these cars i feel that the Rx7 is better riding car if you like speed, but if you want something fast but still able for the kids the rx8 is your car. andbody agree?

plus the only mazda own the rotary engine, and the car is made in Japan. so I trust that rx8 is 100% mazda material.
