Everyone on board gets on a life raft, which is overcrowded and leaking in giant swells. Despite the conditions, the workers and pilots are rescued. The lightning struck due to the composite materials in the rotor blades, raising concerns among the investigators; more than 50% of the structures of the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 787 then being developed are slated to be composites, while the Airbus A380 is designed to be 20% composites.

Fascinating reconstruction of what caused the lightning strike. The violence of Nature is awesome!

Lightning strike could not hurt any aircrafts in the sky. Somehow investigators found out that the brass strip at rotor tail which is made up from composite material fail when lightning strikes. Normally in the sky, lightning could not bring down any aircrafts and the change is almost 0%.

So? Hydraulics failure's chance is so low, it's not even warranted to install a PCA system for it, yet it claimed AT LEAST 600 lives already, and it will come for more.

Nowadays aircraft use fly-by-wire instead Hydraulic lines. That would reduce the chance from getting uncontrollable.

True, but the point I'm making is that you can't really write anything off in this kinds of risky business.

Don't machine evolve? Then, tell it to Boeing. They try to make an aircraft by cover 80% of composite material.
