Why does every body think, that his 4x4 brand is the best offroader? You must look at the technical criteria. For example, a 4x4 wich has axle lockers will allways be better offroad then one with open diffs on the axle.

so 40 years go every off road car had no diff locks? range rover in 1970 was the first 3 diferential 4wd suv with center diff lock, nowadays land rover has one of the best traction control sistem wich has also center and rear diff lock

Motortrend did a spot on non-jeep classic 4x4s in which they listed $9k or so as the rate for one in moderate condition. It's often more, mine was free from a relative but required a complete rebuild including frame. They exist in the US, but aren't quite as common as overseas.
