wooohooo, believe it or not i still use red hat linux 9 as my web server, ftp, voice over ip server "ventrilo" and game server for a couple of games. it runs perfect. and i still do not find the need to upgrade to a diffrent distro or version! I love it, it runs on a toster! lol

this was the fastest linux I ever used, and ran all rpms for me with no probs. Currently I'm using my just installed Fedora 9, but that's not the old red hat quickness and stability. I can't afford the RHEL, but just found my RHL9 installer cds. What do you think, wold I be able to run all things on that linux I can run on Fedora (most important is skype and newest aMSN and mplayer and amarok/xmms). Wouldthe update commands (yum) work in terminal?

redhat does not like so much different from pclinuxos

The only Linux Distro that I ever used and still using is Ubuntu. I want to learn about the rest like Fedora Core, Rehat,...etc. Is there a site that can easily show me all?

Why don't you just go for it? Back-up, then just install the OS onto the computer fully if you don't know how to partition- if you don't like, re-install Linux :). And of course, the easier way is Virtual Box(Youtube it).

Nah from all the Linux distributions red hat is the Best!
It stays true to what Linux means
Not some "cute" windows

Ubuntu is something to look at too
|
Ubuntu got there source from Suse... So check out suse :D
|
No, they got it from Debian

I'm not too big a fan of Ubuntu on desktops, but that's probably because I'm more used to the KDE Desktop Environment. openSUSE FTW!!
