Read a book called Wings on My Sleeves by Eric "Winkle" Brown, an amazing autobiography. He was a Navy test pilot from early in WWII right through to the 70s. He describes what it was like to fly one of these amazing sea planes.

Many years ago I saw this aircraft in a picture and what it looked like after an allied attack. I recall only 1 or 2 were ever made.

it had 8 engines

Revell do an injection moulded 1/72 scale kit.

...Ein Hoch auf die deutschen Konstrukteure...ein Wunderwerk der Technik...

god what a beast!! is there any model kits of it out there? would make a real ( and large) addition to my luftwaffe collection!

I seem to recall seeing one on E-Bay a while back.

You might try Hasegawa model company, I saw they had a German Flying Boat- I just don't recall which type, but it was WW2!

Best aircaft engineers and designers in the world, as well as the best planes! and this is one of them. Thanks for the posting friend...

Shure, but Hughes wasn´t the owner of the third reich ... so he did not have such resources. This plane, following to some rumours, was decided as last getaway for hitler and his kamarilla out of the surrouned and burning berlin
