Description :	This was filmed off the coast of the Island of Guadalupe. We left from San Diego and traveled 22 hours to reach the island where we dove for 3 days. We saw a total of 13 White Sharks ranging from 10-19ft. The first day we saw 8 sharks alone. The footage here was all filmed and edited by 689 Dive and the music was done by 689 Design. What happened to the head of the shart at 1'17

that is a female, and those are mating scars. when the male mounts her he grips on close to the gills with his teeth. This is a shark we call Scarboard (like Starboard, but scar) as her scars are quite substantial. There are videos of some shark species mating that show this behavior, although great white mating has never been filmed. Thanks so much for asking an intelligent question that I actually know the answer to :-)
