im thinking about buying a laser an i have a couple questions, how long do the turbo's last what is the stock boost? howmuch boost can it run on the stock engine before there is risk of damage, how do they run? hows the reliabilty ,how expensive/hard to find are parts? and is an 85 with 79k miles worth $850?

Virtually ANY car which actually runs is worth 850 dollars. 850 dollars is nothing as far as used cars are concerned. You should be willing to spend 2 to 5K on any 80's car that you expect to be in very good condition mechanically and cosmetically.
