B-24 Liberator

I heard that Diamond Lil was built as a B-24D but was damaged on her delivery flight and repaired as an LB-30.

Correction, it was built as a B-24A for the RAF. Damaged in Canada on its way to the UK it was never delivered to the RAF. Then she was converted to LB-30. CAF has been trying to convert her back to a B-24A.

No worries, not really your fault. The CAF advertises it as a B-24 even though it's not.

Diamond Lil wasn't/isn't a B-24. It's a LB-30 transport plane made up to look like a B-24. They did some work on her, so now she's a cargo plane with a gun port in the tail. There's actually only one flying B-24 in the world, which is owned by the Collings Foundation and currently painted as 'Witchcraft.'
