Actreses such as Maki Horikita who I believe is around the same age or younger than her, is more matue and doesnt sound kiddish at all. i understand culture part. but not for "short vocal cord" theory. i don't see that from korean or chinese girls. only japanese girls try to sound like that. even in porn films. that's very annoying.
