I couldn't agree more

I thought Minister Flaherty was a lawyer.
At least he's good at hiding $5 billion of debts.

Well although I agree that the GST cut was terrible, do realize that a 2% cut/increase in GST is not going to make ppl spend/save significantly different. The problem is that Harper has cut a significant amount of revenue from the public purse in a manner that will not promote any significant economic growth. As is seen with the latest budget, the government is dangerously close to a deficit ...one shock away...

F.Y.I.... its mike duffy, not john duffy

what is a GST! is that a fair tax in Canada!
|
Cutting the Gst by 1% was worse than merely useless as BC just raised taxes 5%. So we went 1% back on GST and 5% forward on PST to make up for the shortfall from the FEDS. That's what I call worse than merely useless.

That's what I call worse than merely useless Harper accomplished zilch, except keep his promise on one side of his mouth knowing that cutback to the Provinces would cause the Provinces to make up for the cutback by increasing PST thereby placing the tax blame on others.

liberals like to play politics. re: 1993 election chretien wanted to eliminate the GST
|
Yes all political party's in 15 years don't change. The Conservatives are still for the death penalty, still think gay people shouldn't be allowed to be married, among other horrible stances.
|
Explain how the Conservative broke the promise about Income Trusts, said they wouldn't tax them, then they were elected and taxed them. Point is they had to for the economy. The GST cut is bad for the economy, go look at every european countries consumption tax.
