AMEN Sistah.
Amen
that? From what I've seen, yes. She is married to a great guy. Shes never in the tabloids. She's in church every week. And from interviews I've seen her in, I know she knows a lot about the bible, and Jesus, etc.
So, I mean, we cant judge her life. #1 because God is the only one who can judge, and #2, we don't know her well enough.
Just like I cant say you are going to hell just because I see you do something outside of Gods will. Who knows? You might have a change of heart somewhere
Long story short, lol, as an actor, in taking roles, i always ask myself:
WHATS THE MORAL of the story?
WHAT WILL PEOPLE leave thinking?
and HOW WILL this change people?
if all of those add up to the word of God. if someones heart is changed, if someone forgives another person, if someone re-thinks taking their own life, because of one of my characters, then that is the greater good.
Here's the catch: you have to live a life off camera that is obviously pleasing to God. Has Angela done
Be that in "Stella", "Whats Love?", or any other film she has done.
I have battled long and hard, and asked God to show me the answer to the very thing you haved asked. Now whether or not you want to believe what I am saying is up to you.
Angela has a lot of pull in the industry. She is looked up to. She influences people. And God is using her. Just the fact that she is openly declaring Jessu as her savior is GREAT.
She has to be able to reach the multitudes, which for her is easy.
In Response to BLUENOTE 74:
Here's how:(im an actor myself, so i can answer on behalf of myself as well)
As an actor, it is our job to BECOME a new person. That is the essence of acting.
God has pre-ordained different people to be in different areas of this world. Some are called to be pastors, some to be firemen, and yes, some to be actors.
If you look at Ms. Bassett's films, all of them have a positive moral to the story. At the end of them, the greater good always succeeds.
Then maybe you should not use her as a spiritual(which you misspelled) role model and keep it moving FOOL
Like you have never had a typo in your life. And I am asking a question which you are clearly able to answer. How can Angela Bassett claim to be a Christian and yet choose movie roles that are in complete opposition to what Christianity teaches. How does she justify taking roles such as she did in "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" and "Waiting to exhale?" Instead of personally attacking me, why not simply answer the question Arister.
I understand where you're comming from, but Being a Christian is one who has excepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
You know even Christians aren't perfect. If they were, God would not have had to come down here in the form of man and let his own creation nail his hands and feet to the cross, put a crown of thorns on his head, and spear him in the side. If we as Christians are so perfect than why are we still in this sinful world. we should've been gone a long timwe ago. Luv ANGELa.
