Although problematical ( a dictatorial bent, the attempt to pack the Supreme Court, the interment of Japanese citizens during WW II), Roosevelt was a great man who overcame a tremendous physical handicap and provided real leadership during the Depression and WW II; definitely "Above Average" in my estimation; too bad he died in office, leaving us in the hands of that nasty little nebbish Harry Truman. There needs to be a complete re-evaluation of the U.S. Presidents' rankings.

He was 3rd best president after Lincoln and Washington. If I were to list America's best presidents, this is what it would look like. (1 being the very best) 1. George Washington 2. As a person of German heritage, I do not wish to dwell on what could have been if FDR and men of his ilk did not step up and renounce the spread of fascism.
