too much chrome, and the GMC Canyon's grille is just the Isuzu's without the flashy crossbars. Still, the GMC is the only one to come with leather interior on a trim line that isn't the SSP. :o |
The D-max is what the GMT355 trucks are based on. |
I bought my I-280 used, and it was the cheapest of the GMT355 triplets I could find. I did have to put a few bucks into it to address the previous owner's neglect. Beyond that, it has been a solid truck. Mine has the 3.42 axle and 5 speed stick, and I've been able to squeeze 26mpg out of it on two occasions now. I beat on this truck regularly, and it keeps coming back for more. I'd buy another one in an instant, and I don't care which badge it happens to be wearing. |
Among the Isuzu, Canyon, and Colorado, I think the Canyon is the best looking. I hate the grille on that Isuzu. Tacky. Too expensive too. |
isuzu pulling out of states all together on light trucks |
those are bad ass trucks. i sat in one with 4WD and a Diesel Engine great Truck!! |
you got to be an ideot to spend money on an isuzu name why not spend your money on the truck that has a chevy emblem i would |
smaller than i350 |
isuzu d-max was already made |
actually isuzu is making a new car call the D-MAX but i dont know if it will make it to the states which to me doestn look like any chevy or american truck to me but they dont have many pictures on their site |
To bad Isuzu's are Chevy's now.Thats why I will never buy a Isuzu again. |
Have a 05 colorado, 37K miles, no problems with exception of heater blower motor plug. Luv it. 20-22MPG around town with the 5 cylinder, better than my mustang. never got more than 24 MPG on trip though. Overall, satisfied. |
i had a 06 canyon, POS!!! 13k dropped a valve in the cylinder head, got it back, did the same thing. 6 month fight with GM to get it fixed...then the trans went at 23k..manual AR5 trans, GM has a TSB ont eh WRONG fluid in it causing bearing failure (what mine did). Sold it at 25 months old, 24k and lost $12k. have an Isuzu Rodeo with 113k, no problems, just routine maintenance. Canyon did ride nice though....GM, hope you ROT IN HELL |
it's pronounced eee-sue-zoo not i-zoo-zoo |
Also, I looked at several vehicles based on the GMT-360 platform, as they were on the cheap. I'm talking Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender, Buick... something, Saab... something. The Isuzu Ascender was best, hands-down, especially in price and in warranty. I sure miss driving my Amigo, Rodeo, and Trooper, though. :( |
If it wasn't for Isuzu and their real cars, GM wouldn't be around. Anyone remember the LUV trucks or half of the Geo brand? GM didn't (and doesn't) know how to make anything small and cheap that isn't crap. Problem is, GM got them to stop all their car production back in the day (anti-trust, if you ask me). I fear the same thing is about to happen to Saab. Isuzu is still an independent company. Remember, the vast bulk of Isuzu is not in the US and is SURE not in the passenger car market. |
Got to look at one at an Isuzu dealership getting some parts for My 1998 Rodeo 4x4 (100k mile overhaul). Real nice truck, Isuzu makes some really good products. |
true true |
Nah, Isuzu used to make their own stuff I think they've always had a partnership with GM but I think GM bought Isuzu in the late 90's and then pretty much made Isuzu's look like GM products. It sucks because Isuzu made some pretty good vehicles, I don't understand why GM didn't utilize Isuzu more, they pretty much just use their diesel trucks, and thats it. And they should have made unique vehicles for Isuzu instead of taking a Colorado and Envoy and throwing a Isuzu emblem on it. |
I thought Isuzu just copies GM stuff but adds a little of their own style to it...other than that its all the same i thought. |
because Isuzu's were real cars and GM killed Isuzu. Fuck GM. |
no im sorry, but the front stylin is not better. that grille shell is ugly as hell...and since they dont have any options for configuring and suspension...then why not just get the colorado or canyon??? |
