man beyonce would be successful either way...beyonce n aaliyah aint a comparison...ciara is more like an aaliyah type...so say ciara probaly wouldnt be successful but beyonce has 2 much talent not to outshine everybody..

i miss aaliyah she had TRUE talent; she didn't have to get half naked in her videos to sell her music unlike beyonce she's the main female artist to get naked for her music to sell

I wonder why her mother or father never came out in public after her death. I would have loved to see them on Oprah.

who knows what would have happened if she never got on that plane that morning and passed away when she did? maybe beyonce wouldnt be as successful as she is today cuz aaliyah was definately a rising star when she passed away. her death was so sad, she was just so young :)

I remember taping this, the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. I hope that I still have the tape somewhere... 2001 was a bad year for two reasons: Aaliyah's death (may she forever rest in peace) and September 11th (which happened about a week after the VMAs).
