About brightening them, type "shot" instead of "sshot" and it will add a camera flash. When you edit the speech balloons in you can crop the bottom out of the picture.

SchismState, deus ex screenshots' brightness actually darker than ingame brightness, so it's a good idea to light them up ( photoshop, etc.)
