The SonicWALL TZ190 is a complete office-in-a-box. Built on SonicWALL's tested SonicOS, the TZ190 provides routing, firewall, IDS IPS, email content filtering, virus protection, VPN, packet sniffing and a host of other features in a compact package that includes a dual-WAN option, an 8-port switch and the ability to use a PCMCIA card for WWAN access.
If you're looking for a single device that can run your remote or mobile office, of if you want a piece of gear that is ideal for disaster-recovery setups, the TZ190 might just be for you.
they use that at our school and it blocks everything T_T
same, u go chalfonts?
youtube is awesome
Is the switch managed? What level? I need that kind of information if I'm going to plung down that much money on a router. Still, SonicWALL has a history of putting out some solid gear. Nice review - thanks for showing off REAL uberGeek gear!
Geeksmack -- I agree that it's cool, but it's also WAY expensive! --- Though I wouldn't mind using EVDO with that thing.... hmmm... perhaps installing it into my car?
Did you guys actually watch the episode? This isn't comparable to some home router. The packet capture feature looks awesome to real geeks, and I'd buy it just to get the centralized wireless management. I just wish he had spent more time on the load balancing and backup features.
I have to agree... 6-8 cBills is way over my budget. I also think that it would be a good think to get on iTunes.
$800!!!! I can buy 10 routers for that price! Still, nice reviews. I watch every time you post. I just wish that you had your show on iTunes so that it would automatically download.
A home "router" isn't a true router and cannot perform anywhere near the Sonicwall TZ190. It has VPN capabilities, firewall, wireless, and expansion slot, and so on. You would be hard pressed to find a home router do even the VPN stuff.
