what is the name for escapes in Judo or wrestling?

it depends. Full nelson will keep a guy from moving, but is not practical because it wont really secure a pin, while the half nelson is used to transition into a half(wrestling pin) or yoko shiho gatame(Judo's name for the half). Both wrestling and judo teach basically the same escapes. The only difference is Judo allows for the person being pinned to grab onto the "pinners"gi giving a little more leverage in most cases. But dont go with full nelson either way,its crap in both wrestling and judo

can anyone tell me if Judo has a defense against the nelson? also does anyone know why the nelson is called the nelson in the first place?
