What is the distance among helicopter and victims?

He is up a nav range, 7.2 km, at first. He didn't have a laser range or auto range up. When he puts it on Auto Range, he shows only .0.4 on the HUD, which is 400 meters. Also the 30MM cannon is very low velocity and you can see rounds hit very soon after trigger pull. Which confirms he was only about 1300 ft or 400 meters away. --From an Apache Driver
