ALSO, While Clapton did his fair share of drugs and drinking, at least he is still here so that this discussion can take place. If only Janis, Jimi, Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, John Entwistle, etc. etc. hadn't taken so many drugs! Anyone who was around in the 60s and 70s, like myself, used drugs. Most of us regret our drug use, because our minds and bodies don't work as well as they should. EC is the first person who admits he's not as good as he used to be, for whatever reason.

Clarification: Clapton never shot heroin, he inhaled it. He fell in love with Pattie while she was married, but she left George before she and Eric were involved. His autobiography is brilliantly written, very open and honest, refreshing even. He got clean from drugs and alcohol in mid 80's and staying clean is his #1 priority, over family even. As for business, in the past 10 years or so has he had any day to day involvement. He had to borrow money a few years ago to buy a boat, then he toured.

What are you all taking about? So clapton jamed some needles- big deal- Get a freakin life you jealous, judgemental pieces of shit.

I wonder if there was a specific guru in mind when Clapton wrote "the Bentley driving guru is putting up his price" ? This was years before Rajneesh came to America (I think).

look at how sort jack is :D

1:40...thats so funny!!!

hop off his freakin nuts quit commenting if you dont like clapton nobody cares cuz everyone else does, LOSER

'Once an addict always an addict' So what? What's your point? Is he good or not, that's the only question needed. What, so all those jazzers who came through their herion addictions in the 50s and 60s can't play like they used to as well? YouTube Miles Davis, Art Pepper, Bill Evans... the drugs is not a factor. First he's a 'fucked up mess', now he's a 'consumate business man'(sic.) Make your mind up! it sounds like you've got a problem with drugs and you're scrabbling around for reasons why.

Eric's ability to make money is the only thing not damaged by years of drug abuse. I would say he's VERY "good" at doing THAT. As for playing music I would say his ability to play guitar is now dwarfted by his amazing prowess at playing his fans. Everything this guy vomits, there you are...ready to lap it up. This USED TO BE the greatest rocker the world had ever known. Now...he performs GRANNY MUSIC. You can have him!

Hahaha, you do make me smile. I also think aside from several recordings Eric is a *fraction* of the guitarist he was in the 60s. But then, he's a different musician now, playing different music. Listen to his voice now: it's fantastic. Now, why would that not be harmed by drugs, but his guitar playing is? Your arguments are illogical and littered with CAPS because most of what you're SAYING is HOT AIR, and you need to disguise this. You don't like Eric's playing now? Big deal! Lay off the abuse
