If you really listen to the words of the song, it's as if the Humans are telling the Vulcans "We can do it". The Vulcans were kind of trying to hold the Humans bak, in the first season of Enterprise (the series for which this song is sung) because they thought we needed to be more advanced to go and eplore the universe.
