how far away is your projector from the actual screen?

13 foot from wall to wall, so about 12 foot from lens to screen

Yo, did you have to use the HD cables to connect to the projector, or just the usual red/yellow/white cables?

I used the component (red, green, blue + red, white) and saw a reasonable increase in picture quality over the composite (yellow + red, white)

do you hav to put the wii sensor bar above the projector screen?

No, it is under the screen on top of the center speaker. The wii is at the back of the room in that video and I modded the wii sensor bar to run off mains, you can google "wii sensor bar battery" or "wii sensor bar mains" to get guides.
