Shrike was online wasn't he? It was Cyvvok that was killed when he was offline, that was the first titan kill. As it says at the start this was the first Titan kill in combat. Besides if Cyvvok had played EVE long enough to get a Titan he understood that in EVE anything goes, and he also understood that's what makes EVE different and is in a way the whole point of EVE. And all games, and most of life is for personal gratification so :P
