for some people (im not making fun in any way)
but things like this teach you better than school sometimes does for even some this is the closest to education they get so for some it isnt all entertainment

This game is an interactive history lesson. The storyline is a REAL one.

Yes, not only is a great game it is also historically correct and that's something I think adds to the games lasting greatness. I remember Road to Hill 30 was so awesome because of the whole "Cover-System", but it wasn't till "Earned In Blood" came out that History did a piece on the game that I found out it was true to history. It just made the game so much better. Medal of Honor games are fun, but they are so fictional, same with Call of Duty. Brothers in Arms balanced fact and fun perfectly.

It my be superficial to you, but your opinions aren't canonical.
Following your line of logic, I would assume you wouldn't mind if a game or movie about war portrayed the reality and absurdity of it?
I would actually agree with you. I think video games and movies about war are way too romanticized and G rated. They portray the allies as good and the other side as completely evil when in reality, war is a large grey area, with a lot of ambiguities.

Bullshit. Ubisoft only produced these games to make money. Period. They only care about the veterans in order to extract personal testimony in order to make the game seem more realistic, so they can chalk 'historical accuracy' up as another selling point.
Developers create story lines based on devastatingly real trauma that in the case of WW2 affected millions, yet they fail to understand the implications of using real events as fodder for a video game which has no consequences beyond a TV

I disagree. While game companies definitely have to think of the bottom line, that doesn't mean they can't also take pride and interest in their work. I truly believe that the game developers of BIA care about their product, and I think most would agree with me.
The fact that they personally went to the battlefields and modeled everything after real life is very telling of their desire to make it unique.

Dude what is your problem. My parents learned from documentaries. What are you going to say that mid day television really showed the brutality of war. It was extremely censored. In fact it is probably better this days at least the new generation knows it was brutal and horrible. What you don't want anybody to know about it?

Documentaries are meant to inform. Games like this are meant primarily for entertainment value, with historical accuracy as a qualifying element.
Here is an idea for a realistic war based video game: Once you die in the game, the first time you die, you can no longer play that game. No restarts. No checkpoints or saves. Simply a blank screen. If you want to play again you have to purchase an entirely new game from the store.
