This is a quick unboxing and first impressions of the Samsung Q1 Ultra UMPC. This device has an 800 Mhz CPU, 1 GB of RAM, a 40 GB 4200 RPM hard drive, 802.11g WiFi, a 7" screen running at 1024 x 600.

How do you get company to send you things to review? I love to review electronics!
You have to build a Web site, build up credibility in the industry, attract readers, go to conferences, make contacts, etc. It's like starting up any other business.

Some things yes, most things no. It depends on who's sending it, why they're sending it to me, how much it's worth, etc.

Yes, that's correct - it's running Windows Vista, so it was sent to me by the Vista team.

lanyard? haha, almost definitely for a wrist strap so when you're using it in public someone can't just snatch it out of your hands.
One man's "wrist strap" is another man's "lanyard". ;-) (Yeah, I figured out the wrist strap when I started using it)
