where is the old old castle the lan xang era castle? if its ruin then the ruin has to be there somewhere.

sookchai, Castle? You're thinking of medieval Europe. Lao medieval castles was contructed primary with woods(such as teak). The Mon and Khmer used stone to contructed their palaces and temple( such as Wat Phou Champassak and Angkor Wat ruin in Cambodia).

Nice and shaky video. I am glad that it was not destroyed when the revolution army took over in 1975. I am so proud. But remember this my fellow Lao people. That historic building is the target of Vang Pao & his gang if their plan is carried out. Wake up Lao people.

i don't understand why Lao govt still remain history of all the royal family?! even they once enemy! and the remain loyal family stilt want to gain power back of course who won't? be as King get others Lao people serve them and be their slave. like they said rich become poor is hard!

Weak regimes enforce fear and attempt to destroy the past because they cannot legitimize their regime. They manipulate the past and history in order to make their regime legit and better. Obviously with your post, they have somewhat succeeded.

Saysana, In contrary to your bias statement, the Government of the Lao PDR actually did a good job in preserving Laos national heritage. Hence, Luang Prabang and Wat Phou Champassak is now the World Heritage City. Lao PDR is internationally recognized. Therefore your accusation of the need for legitimacy in the part of the Lao Government is utterly false and groundless.

I meant Hall Jao See Wit...Royal Flag should be flowning on the main Hall or at least have both flags up...

Hall Jai See Wit...Hall Luang Prabang...thanks for sharing...
