they did it on purpose?

The comments are very funny. "Not an s2" one has to say. Its an s2 tracker. another has to say "was a light carrier" its an essex class, I beleave its the Ticonderoga. one said this wasnt an accident. Everything was open at the time and the electronics were wasted after the incident. Do you really think a naval aviator is going to say "ok you can shoot me into a 60 foot wave"? NOT!! And what information would the navy get from shooting a airplane into a huge wave? cat officers mistake.

Do the research ... its all available on the internet.

isnt the Ticonderoga a class of attack sub?
|
This ship is the Ticonderoga. no class of sub is called Ticonderoga. I dont think the navy is naming subs after battles now. I thought new attack subs were being named after states and a person.(jimmy carter).
|
The Ticonderoga was a carrier in the 40s to the 70s. It was also later a class of CGs.

Hey one of the guys flying is a man named Patrick "Red" Boyle. Bremerton Wa. Have known him for a long time. He is in the realestate biz now if you ever need a house.

Holy cow! I saw this video in the VT-6 ready room almost twenty years ago. I've never been able to find it because I remembered it as an E-2. Now I know why I couldn't find it! It makes sense though -- no way the E-2's turbines would have kept turning after something like that.

thats piston power for ya. a turboprop would have flamed out big time!
