the old colonial buildings are part of the charm of saigon. when i travel to a city i like to see its history. that is why i find saigon so much more interesting than taipei, singapore, seoul, etc. which all look alike with modern skyrisers all built within the same period. is that what you think saigon should be like? as for girls wearing ao dai, they look beautiful in them.

agreed. although i've never been to singapore. i live in seoul, and it has one-thousandth the charm of HCMC. would move to vietnam in a heartbeat. very gentle but determined people. even tho the northerners are a bit gruff, it's their country. i'm glad they survived the 60s intact, and that they are prospering now. i bought an ao dai for my korean gf, but...it's not the same. :)
