i saw your video - you'd be flogged by anyone half decent at epee (yes, the olympic version). you're slow and have no balance. foil is a sporting activity, it never was a combat weapon - hence some of the "impractical" moves.

Yeah, i truly believe that *rolls eyes*. Everyone's a non-believer in another's fighting style till THEY are the one's standing across from you. Slow is hardly the word to use for my moves and as for no balance, that's also amusing. Foil was DEFINATLY a combat weapon at one age in time. Reguardless: "flicking" shows no practicality. That's like fighting Longsword and slapping with the broadside of the blade - NO.

the video i watched featured two people that were slow, poorly balanced, and fenced like crap - they looked like a couple of tossers playing dress-ups. i'll give credit to other styles/fencers when it's due i.e. when they look like they know what they're doing. i've seen other historical fencers that look pretty decent, not my thing but i respect their choice. the generally accepted view is that foil was a training weapon

Andrea rimane sempre uno dei migliori al mondo, anche se non lo vedremo a Pechino...
|
the flicks have been greatly reduced cuz of new FIE regs and the "attack no correct" and "preparacion" has been more strict on alot of "flick happy people. In fact i think it was because of the 2004 olympics results...BTW, Foil is great, so is epee. none are better.

W noiiiiiiiii!!!
E ricordiamoci i bei momenti di Atene x qst'estate a Pechino!!!!!
Forza Azzurri!

hey does anyone kno how to create that much flick?
|
uh, well it depends on yr blade. But more on your wrist strength. it is not something one should rely on either. Because you are more at risk of getting counter-attacked and then miss, or break your foil if you hit too hard. Or really tick off your friends that you're fencing with if you land flat. Trust me..i have scars to show that made me hate flick lovers in fencing...LOL. But it is a cool technique..

dude in english please

Did historical fencing too, however... this is foil fencing... lame. Epee is probably more suited to your tastes
