Yes, this is called Dihedral wing design, better design because it offers more lateral stability, thus making the plane easier to handle for pilots, safer, more efficient. Also If you look at the leading edge of the wing, it is also equipped it with stall strips, and wing twist design,(the dark spot at the leading edge of the wing). It helps stall the inboard portion of the wing first in case of a stall to keep the airflow over the ailerons smooth. There's a lot of aerodynamics involved.
