In 1899 he judged that the momentum of the French revolutionary had burned itself out the time was ripe for a popular soldier with a genius for organization to take control. Unlike the monarchs in Vienna, St. Petersburg and London, Napoleon as the son of provincial lawyer could never claim to derive authority from descent. He enjoyed complete loyalty of the army. His brilliant military strategies won him control of most of Europe. The conquered people of Europe finally banded together to defeat Napoleon.

they left out the war of liberation in 1813 in Germany with the battle of antions at leipzig...i kinda get the impression the guys who made this documentry don't like Germany

Note to self........don't FUCK with England.

I didn't; unless you count yourself part of the elitism and right-of-birth elements that are aspects within England. Oh; if you do believe in elitism and right-of-birth (which I don't) then by English decendency I am at least 12 ranks on the order of priority than you are (if you are a normal citizen with no title).

good

Napoleon can take on much of Europe and win. It needed two leaders to defeat Napoleon after he had already returned once and was to return again to the heart of the People (Hotel des Invalides; to be housed in a tomb of porphyry - a colour reserved in ancient Rome for the great ceasers and other emperors). Vivre le Peuple!! Down with english elitism and right-of-birth!! Viva

It needed two, that's fair enough I suppose, but then France did have a population that surpassed Britain's and Prussia's combined. Besides Napoleon was beat before the Prussians arrived anyway.

Now had the great battle at Leipzig past - there Jean Baptiste Bernadotte, commander of the north army, played an importent part - were Napoleon was groundly defeated. Bernadotte also hoped that he shall become king over France! Ulf Sawert. Sweden
