EFF American Gangster, Frank Lucas, and Denzel Washington!

Why does no one mention or I haven't read enough comments..the movies, made during the 1970's called SUPERFLY AND STREETFIGHT AKA COONSKIN. The first film is blaxplitation, the second is a animation mixed with actors. Both movies were made ABOUT FRANK LUCAS during his reign as a kingpin.....Watch those films (if you can get them, at least the second one) and you'll see the viewpoint from when that stuff was going down. This AG film is just a made for entertainment Hollywood running out of ideas

Tonya, I agree with you 100%. We should stop glorifying these Hollywood Gangster movies. How many young black men runnin round here calling themselves GOTTI or Luccianno, its ridiculous. Why don't we try to immulate the likes of IMHOTEP and study some of our hidden history rather than try to make Frank Lucas Don Corleone heroes. Thank you.........

If ur gonna say American Gangster's a bad influence, u gotta point out the other gangster films - which is why i don't agree. You can't just blame 1 film. It depends on an individual to either take on what they c or just recognise good the film is. And Denzel, well I don't expect nothing from celebs anyway, if you felt denzel was disrespectful u should of dissed him. I luv da guy anyway but at the end of the day people are people, who knows what was goin thru his head.
