I remember watching this in NZ at the time and the media covg. The tape was sent to several countries who believed it and broadcast it. Howard govt had to confirm it wasn't him and he didn't say sorry. It took you aussies long enough to say sorry we did it in the 1970s.

wow thay honestly aired it?

and people say howard didn't apologise! lol

The best comedy is based in truth. Hard to come closer to the truth. Finest moments in this show - working and in constructoin at the time and seeing the episode where John Clarkes character asks the builder how long the 100 metres is and then introduces said builder to the all comer 100 metre holder who had had a few beers before hand and secondly the country ladies who came in with their suggestoins for the opening ceremony.

Thanks heaps Bean for uploading this! LOVE The Games!

Yeah this way a great series back in the day. Very advanced considering now we have the break out reality show The Office based on many of the same techniques.

You could argue that Frontline started it all. Back in 1994.

could argue the jack benny show did :) anyway the games is one of the best shows i've ever seen!

I never watched this series and I am sorry to have missed it. The humour in the clip works on so many levels - absolutely priceless. Thanks for uploading it! :)
