Bored Lois Farrow (Ellen Burstyn) attempts some motherly advice for her teenage daughter, Jacy (Cybill Shepherd) in director Bogdanovich's 1971 adaptation of Larry McMurtry's novel. Burstyn was nominated for her brilliant performance of the woman trapped in an unhappy marriage and trying to keep her daughter from making the same mistakes.
