can death and fish eye fit in it if so what size?

The SD1 (and I think the SD3) allow an external microphone unlike the lastest SD5. Good if you want to interviews.

4GB SDHC its not your standard SD card. you can fit stupid amounts of high qaulity data on it and its a lot more than just 40mins, u can fit hours on the 4gb

Excellent video; gives prospective overall view of product. I just happen to own one of these awesome camcorders. One important thing omitted - no mention about the lack of editing software for the HDC SD1. Panasonic has put the cart before the horse. What I do - and it works fine - is to record the video onto a DVD using Sony's DVD Direct; then ripping the title using Video Studio 11 Plus.

These days Sony Vegas and Ulead's NLE and others can edit the AVCHD but you need a powerful PC.

I believe that SONY Vegas deals specifically with their (SONY's) new SD camcorder. Not too sure whether it will work with Panasonic's. What is Ulead NLE (what does NLE stand for ?)

Sony Vegas 7 only works with Sony's files but the latest, Vegas 8 works with the Panasonic files too, I hear. Ulead's NLE is Video Studio and I hear that it does work with the files from this camera. So you should be able to do with without ripping. NLE is non linear editor or the genus of Vegas and Video Studio.
