i have MBP and removed apple and put linux instead , a Dual system UbuntU and OpenSUSE and both load up from default 8 seconds and after my penetration of my system its now 17 seconds go suck apple an microsoft you can go format yourselves

thats pretty much the normal start time, but then again im not on the first gen MBP. Im using the latest nov 1st one with everything at max and the 200gb 7200 rpm hard drive.
