I think it's bs that the 787 was banned from LeMans because of "unfair weight advantages". They might as well ban the Audi R10 TDI for "unfair fuel mileage advantages". anyway, I digress...the 787 has one of the best engine notes ever!!

Agreed, there's always gunna be some debate over something stupid like "we dunno how to use diesel to race", or in this case "we dunno how to make an engine with 2.6L displacement that makes that much power"; but, hands down, one of the greatest engine notes ever.

The Toyota GT One would have won the '99 Le Mans if it werent for that tire failure...

Nice sounding car.. But FIA did NOT ban the car from Le Mans as FIA does not have control over Le Mans. Le Mans is ruled by the ACO, and rotar engines has competed at Le Mans several times after 1991. FIA did ban it from the Sportscar World Championship it was competing in, to unify the engine types to 3.5 L F1 engines.

I would like to have seen the 787B at Le Mans this year up against the 908s and R10s. That would have been fun but the 787B would get smoked by about 15 seconds a lap compared to this years times. 3.18 is absolutely amazing.

and just imagine what mazda could do with a 4 rotor with todays technology and basically all the money and facilities you'd ever need ;)

if they were banning every car due to "unfair weight advantages" or every goddamn reason they find then lemans cars would b replaced by carless drivers running around the track.

imagine having a car that sounded like that in idle :) How cool it would be to cruise around busy parking lots!
