I cannot understand why people seem to think there are references to WW2 in this advert. Give me one instance of this in the advert. It's just tongue in cheek - they are perfectly funny stereotypes of Germans which the British recognise (the only place where they are running this advert). German cars sell better in the UK than in any other country other than Germany - so hence the advert. If it wanted to be an American for instance - it would show a 30 stone guy eating a BigMac

How could Citroen make such a TV commercial considering how the French treated German prisoners of war after World War II ended?

anti Hmm. Well, thanks for your sympathy, but Eisenhower wasn't exactly nice either... and it's all in the past anyway. The commercial's great. And it was for the UK anyways, I doubt the French would like it.
