Nice Car. However, I would have hoped that Proton would have diversified its design for different models. New Proton Saga and Satria look similar. Same with the case of Gen2 Pesona. May Proton introduce new designs every 6 years at least - To stay competitive. No point having the same product for more than 10 years as per what it did before.
On the whole however, this is an improvement and it deserves a recognition.

but lets face it..it's a globalised world and to be dependent solely on the malaysian market is a dangerous thing.. other car makers can offer better quality with a lower cost due to their large market..they can fund more into rd..but us being contented with malaysian standards isn't enough because nobody outside would buy us..we will soon lag behind.. no one is stopping others from buying other makes..we have to convice them to buy proton..and it truely has to shine to prove itself
|
To those narrow-minded Malaysians who probably has never been to west:
I'm proud of proton, im a chinese malaysian living in the Manchester ,United Kingdom.
Proton needs time to progress and i see they are heading towarad the right path,or else u malaysian hv to be willing to pay 40% taxes out of ur salary to enhance their RD and technology like what Europe countries do most of the time,
Will you?
Proton started late, but you're stingy enough to folk out your money to help and keep blaming!
|
My point is critism brings about pressure to change for the better..but their faults in their products are non-excusable..i doubt the malaysian government will allow a foreign company to acquire proton in the near future(just like how germany errected laws in pre-EU days to prevent a foreign takeover of their car manufacturers)..but european countries channeling coffer's money into their national car industry?..i don't it's the trend in western europe..just look at the British car industry
|
seriously why protect our car industry from critism?..the japs used to be critised similarly too and that made them better.. it's understandable that it's difficult to create cars from scratch and fund hundreds of millions to it's development and make sure nothing goes wrong and still keep within budget.. further more we lack experience to learn from mistakes and we don't have the luxury to do so either
|
I can see the improvements actually.. my parents were actually among the first to buy the new prton saga making this the 3rd proton my family actually bought.. but the quality control is still apparently still caught wanting..everything seems ok till you open the bonnet and see poor welding for the engine compartment..looked like they splashed lead onto it and the seats are softer than foam pillows.. it won't be long before they become crummy

hbonli...new proton ceo is very care and concern about QC/quality control.... nowday, nomore cheap looking plastic for the interior of proton cars...
|
